Modernisation and extension works on Stadler factory have started

The PLN 65 million extension of the Środa factory operated by Stadler Środa Sp. z o. o. is already underway. The works also include alterations to the existing general office and staff facilities, and a redesign of utilities. The general contractor for the investment project is W.P.I.P. from Swarzędz.

Stadtler Środa Factory, member of the Stadtler group which is a leading manufacturer of modern rail vehicles, produces steel tram car bodies. Due to the dynamic growth of the company’s business, it was decided to extend the production facility. The construction works will increase the current production floor area by over 19,000 sq. m.

New structures will include a new production hall on the basis of a composite construction (steel-reinforced concrete & steel frame) clad with composite panels, a general office building of steel-reinforced concrete and a prefabricated steel-frame gatehouse.  The existing masonry gatehouse will also be modernised and converted into a water pumping station. The cost of the project amounts to ca PLN 65 million.

Stadler Środa Sp. z o.o. currently employs ca 250 persons. The extension and modernisation of the factory in Środa Wielkopolska, to be completed by December this year, will create new and attractive jobs.
